Meet the New Volkswagen Tayron: The SUV That Does it All.

Volkswagen just stepped up their game with the Tayron, a stylish new SUV that’s as practical as it is tech-savvy. Powered by a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine, it offers over 60 miles of electric-only range—perfect for anyone looking to lower.

This 7-seater is designed for families, adding to VW's growing SUV lineup, alongside favourites like the T-Cross and Touareg. Spoilt for choice? Absolutely. The Tayron is here to replace the Tiguan Allspace, but with more advanced features and even smarter functionality.

These four engine options include a mild hybrid petrol, a pure petrol, a petrol plug-in hybrid, and a diesel, each offering various power outputs. The lineup starts with a 1.5-liter turbo mild hybrid producing 148 bhp, powering the front wheels. Next, there’s a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine available with either 201 bhp or 261 bhp, offering the choice between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For diesel, the 2.0-liter turbo comes with two output options: 148 bhp with front-wheel drive or 190 bhp with all-wheel drive. All engines are paired with a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a single electric motor, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This system delivers either 201 bhp or 268 bhp, both through the front wheels. Volkswagen claims an impressive electric-only range of over 62 miles for both versions, making it a strong option for Company A, particularly for those seeking a more eco-friendly and efficient solution.

You might wonder what sets this model apart from the Tiguan. While they share some similarities, particularly in engine options, this vehicle offers a larger, more luxurious feel. It also comes with the option of seven seats, adding greater versatility for families or group travel. With an impressive towing capacity of 2,500 kg, it’s perfect for hauling horseboxes, caravans, or other heavy loads, making it ideal for those who need both comfort and utility.

The new Tayron comes equipped with striking standard features such as light strips on the radiator grille and rear, surround lighting, illuminated door handles, and illuminated Volkswagen logos on both the front and rear. It’s approximately 10mm wider than the Tiguan, giving it a more commanding presence on the road. Additionally, it's 230mm longer to accommodate the optional third row of seats, providing extra space for passengers. The design stays in line with the Tiguan but takes on a sportier look, with alloy wheels ranging from 17 inches to 19 inches on higher-spec models.

Inside, the Tayron features a 12.9-inch touchscreen as standard, with the option to upgrade to a larger 15-inch system for added convenience. Additionally, every model comes equipped with a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, offering clear and customizable information at a glance. This modern, tech-focused interior enhances the overall driving experience and brings a premium feel to the cabin.

Set to launch in 2025, the Tayron will become Volkswagen's second-largest SUV in Europe, with only the Touareg surpassing it in size. This new model will offer a spacious and premium option for drivers looking for something just below the flagship Touareg.
