Audi RS Q8 + Performance Model Review
The Audi RS Q8 has made a striking entrance, unveiling its performance variant alongside the standard model, both equipped with cutting-edge technology. This latest iteration introduces advanced headlight technology, numerous interior enhancements, and a fresh, stylish design that sets a new benchmark in its class. Boasting a petrol powerhouse, this model is now Audi’s most powerful petrol car available on the market.
Engine and Performance
The standard Audi RS Q8 packs a punch with its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8, unleashing 441kW and 800Nm of torque. This SUV defies expectations, rocketing from 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Beyond raw performance, the RS Q8 impresses with its luxurious driving experience and stunning interior design. The Audi RS Q8 Performance model elevates the game further, achieving 0-62 mph in an astonishing 3.6 seconds with an output of 471 kW and 850 Nm. This positions it as Audi’s most powerful petrol production vehicle ever. For perspective, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT only outpaces it by 14 kW.
Advanced Technology and Design
Both models have an eight-speed automatic transmission with an all-wheel drive system. Both models have adaptive air suspension with up to 90mm of ride height variation. Plus, you even get active anti-roll bars that stiffen in corners which reduces the roll, and disconnect in a straight line to improve suspension. Rear-wheel steering is also standard, while options on the regular RS Q8 include a sport differential, and carbon-ceramic brakes which are standard on the Performance.
Styling and Features
This high-performance SUV now features the Black Appearance Package Plus, including the sleek black Audi rings. The sport RS model features a distinctive RS bumper and Singleframe grille in black. Prominent air inlets enhance the front view, complemented by a front spoiler and widened wheel arches that underscore its robust stance. Additionally, the RS black steel calipers add a refined touch to its overall aesthetics.
Lighting and Wheel Options
The Audi RS Q8 now comes equipped with advanced HD Matrix LED headlights featuring Audi's laser light technology and standard LED daytime running lights. Additionally, the Audi beam cleverly projects the RS logo onto the ground as you exit the vehicle. It rides on large 22" 10-spoke star design Audi Sport alloy wheels in galvano silver as standard, with an option to upgrade to stunning 23" alloy wheels.
Interior Customisation
Inside, you can personalise your experience with seat inlays available in red, grey, or blue, each embossed with the RS logo. This Audi RS Q8 will be available for order in Europe starting in late June.
Pricing and Market Position
The Audi RS Q8 is truly a powerhouse, combining top-tier technology, a plush interior, and stunning aesthetics to deliver immense power. However, such excellence comes with a steep price tag, with a starting cost of around £141,000. While not inexpensive, this high-performing vehicle competes toe-to-toe with the elite in its class.
