All-New DS N08 Revealed, Starting Price of £50,000

Similar to the Peugeot 408 and Polestar 4, the new DS N08 is now on sale in the UK, starting at £50,000, with the first models expected on the road by July. The French brand has taken a fresh approach to electric design and engineering, creating a car that blends innovation with sophistication. This model will be available exclusively as a fully electric vehicle, as DS transitions away from internal combustion engines for its next-generation lineup. The entry-level Pallas trim comes with a single 256bhp motor and offers a 355-mile range. It’s a great option, featuring a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a head-up display.

For those looking for extra range, you can upgrade to the 97kWh battery pack for an additional £3,900, extending the range to 466 miles—a worthwhile investment for drivers who want to go the extra mile, literally.

Next up is the Étoile trim, starting at £54,790. This model adds illuminated front grille details, a digital rearview mirror, upgraded LED lighting, and an enhanced cruise control system for a more refined driving experience.

For those wanting extra range, you can upgrade to the 97kWh battery pack for an additional £5,000, extending the driving range even further.

If you’re looking for all-wheel drive, it’s only available with the larger battery and the Étoile trim. This version adds a second motor to the rear axle, boosting power to 370bhp while slightly reducing range to 426 miles. It also improves performance, with a 0-62mph sprint of just 5.4 seconds.

The highest-spec configuration comes in at £63,290.

Inside, DS has taken a bold step forward in design. With design inside a far step away from other models, the interior features a flat-bottom, spoke-style steering wheel and monolithic geometric panels for a sleek, modern feel. A minimalist approach replaces traditional buttons with a fully integrated touchscreen infotainment system, creating a clean and futuristic cockpit. The interior is a significant step up from anything else offered by DS, featuring a completely refined and luxurious design. It exudes elegance, with premium materials and a sophisticated layout that enhances the overall upscale feel. The Étoile and Pallas trims are available, along with five cabin material packages featuring aluminium, leather, and Alcantara.

With this new flagship model, the French brand is clearly aiming to reestablish itself after a decline in sales across Europe in 2024.

DS has certainly made a statement with this car—not just with its bold new design and cutting-edge technology, but also with its commitment to an all-electric future. If early impressions are anything to go by, this could become a popular choice for many drivers.

In terms of size, it measures 4,820mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,580mm in height, with a 620-litre boot. It offers seating for five, providing a spacious and comfortable interior thanks to its extended length. There's plenty of room inside, ensuring a comfortable ride for all passengers.

This car takes inspiration from the Aero Sport Lounge concept from 2020, though its design has been toned down slightly for production. DS has introduced a fresh new design that blends sleek elegance with modern innovation. It's exciting to see the brand embracing a bold, electric future with this latest release.

The N08 also marks the debut of DS’s new naming system, which follows a structure similar to luxury fashion brands like Chanel—for example, how Chanel sells the No. 5 perfume. This shift signals a fresh branding direction for DS, aligning it more closely with premium and high-end markets.
